Being short-listed for participation in preparing the master plan for extension of an institute designed by Charles Correa, JNIDB was in itself an incredible opportunity. More than opportunity, it was a challenge to meet benchmark of the master who has been an inspiration and patron to this firm. Efforts were made to visit the site and understand the space qualities and nuances of the existing institute and expansion possibilities of its various activities. In planning, efforts were made to retain the language, grammar and ambience as that of the existing institution, yet by trying to create a distinct identity of its own.
