Since the inception of Kalayojan, the office is involved in designing various master planning projects across India and now also in the African continent. Kalayojan has distinctly completed designs for several University campuses from 10 acres to 600 acres, townships etc. and now also forayed in the master planning of a state Capitol city of around 150sqkms.
In its architectural practice since more than two decades, Kalayojan has rendered its services to individual and institutional clients in various states across India. The scale of the projects handled has varied from restaurants and cafes to 115 acres of campus for Visveswaraya Technological University in Belgaum.
Last couple of decades, India has witnessed a huge surge in the development of infrastructure for its fast growing cities as well as the hinterland. Kalayojan has attempted to do its bit in responding to this nationwide need of good designs for infrastructural fittings in the cityscape. We have designed flyovers, grade separators, bridges, skywalks, city entrance gateways, cricket stadia and octroi checkposts among others in our diverse portfolio of projects. We are fortunate to have collaborated with some of the the most competent technical and engineering consultant organisations available today.
Having reached a saturation point in terms of virgin lands in Mumbai and other urban centres for expansion of living spaces to cater to the needs of an evergrowing population, the idea of redeveloping existing properties to fit in the excess demand has taken root. The process of redevelopment essentially involves demolition of the existing, old structure to make way for new construction in which excess space can be created by taking advantage of extra TDR and FSI made available on the same plot of land according to the new Development Control Regulations (DCR). Redevelopment benefits not only the city development authorities, but also the developer and the home owners or members of the housing societies.
Landscape design essentially involves developing the unbuilt area of any premises with the purpose of adding to the utility of and further enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the built form. Kalayojan has involved itself in landscape designing as part of its overall project design, with the approach to landscape being holistic thereof.
Interiors by Kalayojan are as varieties as the clients’ tastes and personalities. These designs are also guided by the requirement of a space, be it residential, commercial or institutional.
