Landscape design essentially involves developing the unbuilt area of any premises with the purpose of adding to the utility of and further enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the built form. Kalayojan has involved itself in landscape designing as part of its overall project design, with the approach to landscape being holistic thereof. The development of 115 acres of Campus area for the Vishveshwariah Technological University at Belgaum involved landscape designing on a large scale with a lot of thought given to all aspects of landscaping as ground leveling, creation of waterbodies, selection of appropriate types of plants for different purposes and lighting. The bungalow “Niharika” at Nashik, was pre-empted by the landscape requirements as the clients’ brief was to live with nature. Thus, the landscape design dictates the building design and blends in with the built form. SEEPZ ++ presented a different challenge of creating a green pocket for an electronics trade complex in an industrial area. The landscape design at SNJB, Chandwad has some beautiful details like the tree pockets and grassy belts interspersed with the seating of the Amphitheatre and the welcoming waterbody in front of the building which doubles up as a recreational waterfront to the canteen, created by taking advantage of a naturally occurring stream that traverses the site from one side to the other.
